Mounted horses in Santa hats, Mayor Ed Lee and Jan and Cecil Williams were joined by Tenderloin student carolers at San Francisco's famous Lefty O'Doul's restaurant and historic baseball/sports bar as they kicked off its 14t annual Christmas Eve Toy Drive early this year to provide GLIDE Memorial Church with a Union Square collection location. “GLIDE Memorial Church has played a monumental role in the lives of so many San Franciscans over the last 50 years,” said Nick Bovis, owner of Lefty O'Doul's. “We are honored to join Cecil, Janice and the rest of the GLIDE family this holiday season and help them reach their goal of 9000 toys by December 20th for local children in need in the city that many of us call home.” San Francisco mounted officer Matt Castagnola hung his spurs on November 26th and was celebrated on this occasion as well.
