Mayor Ed Lee will be in Washington, D.C., the next few days, attending the U.S. Conference of Mayors' winter meeting and settling a friendly wager from a 49ers playoff game.

First on Lee's agenda Wednesday is the U.S. Conference of Mayors' winter meeting, which is titled "Innovations that Lead." Lee is also chairing of the innovation and technology task force, which he helped form in 2012.

Also on Tuesday, according to a schedule from the Mayor's Office, Lee will be mentoring young people in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in Washington. D.C. The wager stems from the NFC Divisional Playoff game between the 49ers and the Charlotte Panthers. According to the wager from the game that the 49ers won, Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon will have to wear 49ers colors as the two mayors volunteer.

Lee's D.C. trip also lasts a few more days, according to the Conference of Mayors meeting agenda. On Thursday, Lee is scheduled to be on a panel about the environment during which, according to the agenda, he will give a presentation titled "A National Strategy for Improving Critical Water Infrastructure."
