The world's most famous digital currency is taking its show on the road, and it's all kicking off here.

San Francisco will be the site of the first Bitcoin Fair. The event is free to attend and is designed to boost bitcoin's image by helping people understand the currency and how to use it.

On Feb. 6, Ramen Underground restaurant in Japantown will host the first fair. It also will begin accepting bitcoin then, according to event organizer QuickCoin.

Expected guests include venture capitalists, angel investors, executives and several early Google employees, organizers said.

People who would like to attend can find more information on the event's Facebook page, The Bitcoin Fair - San Francisco #1 @ Ramen Underground, or at bitcoinfair-sf.eventbrite.com.
