Woman stabbed during Bayview bar fight

A 32-year-old woman was stabbed in the chest during a bar fight in the Bayview on Sunday, police said.

The victim was approached by a woman in her 30s at Third Street and Galvez Avenue around 1 a.m. in front of the bar, San Francisco police Sgt. Daryl Fong said. A fight ensued and the victim was stabbed in both arms and the chest, police said Monday.

Friends of the victim drove her to San Francisco General Hospital for her injuries, which were originally reported to have been life threatening, police said. As of Monday her condition is now reportedly stable, Fong said.

Police were notified of the incident by the hospital, Fong said. A suspect has not been apprehended as of Monday, but investigators are following up on leads, he said.
