Woman scolds daughter for being late, gets stabbed in return

A young girl stabbed her mother Monday night in their San Francisco home after being scolded for staying out too late, police said.

The 35-year-old woman was hospitalized after suffering knife wounds to her abdomen, but survived the attack in the 1200 block of Eddy Street around 7:19 p.m., police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said Tuesday.

The attacker was one of two girls ages 12 and 15 who got into an argument with their mother. Because they are juveniles, police would not reveal which girl is the suspect.

The daughter apparently turned herself in. She showed up to a police station after the attack and was arrested, Esparza said.
