Woman robbed of cellphone in downtown San Francisco

She wasn’t waiting for thug and a lady, she was just waiting for a friend.

A woman was robbed of her cellphone downtown Tuesday while waiting to meet a friend, police said.

The 28-year-old victim was on the corner of Third and Mission streets around 7 p.m. when a man and woman approached, grabbed her cellphone and ran, police said.

The victim gave chase but was pushed away, police said. The friend she was waiting for, a 29-year-old man, showed up and gave chase as well and was punched for his efforts.

The crooks got away with the cellphone and no arrests have been made. The two victims did not sustain serious injury.
