A 25-year-old woman was wounded in a drive-by shooting Wednesday afternoon in San Francisco's Western Addition neighborhood.

About 1:30 p.m., police received calls that several shots had been fired in the 1000 block of McAllister Street, Officer Tracy Turner said.

They found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life threatening, Turner said.

Officers learned that one of several suspects in a black sedan opened fire before the vehicle fled. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday night, Turner said.

A motive for the shooting was not immediately clear.

"It's unknown if she had any relationship with the suspects," Turner said.
