A driver was arrested for fleeing the scene of a collision with a bicyclist in the Inner Richmond district early this morning, police said.

Hilah Sulme, 56, of San Francisco, was booked on a felony hit-and-run charge following the collision at California Street and Eighth Avenue about 3:15 a.m., Officer Gordon Shyy said.

The victim, who has not been identified, was transported to the hospital with head injuries that are not considered life threatening.

Details about what led to the collision remain under investigation, Shyy said.

Sulme had reportedly been driving in a white van that hit the cyclist and fled. Witness reports helped police track down the van and arrest Sulme shortly after the collision, Shyy said.

Sulme was apparently not intoxicated at the time of the crash.
