Woman crossing Mission Street injured by vehicle

A woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a car in San Francisco’s Outer Mission district Friday, a police sergeant said.

The 74-year-old woman was crossing Mission Street mid-block at Amazon Avenue around 12:05 p.m. when she was hit, police Sgt. Danielle Newman said.

The woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening head injuries, Newman said.

A 25-year-old man who was driving a silver Hyundai that hit the victim remained at the scene and has cooperated with police, Newman said.
