Woman abducted near SoMa intersection

A 20-year-old woman was walking with another person near Mission and 10th streets about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday when a car pulled up beside them and someone yanked the woman inside, police said.

The abductor was described as a man in his 20s, police said, and the car fled westbound. As of Wednesday, the woman had not been located.

Police would not disclose further information about the case because an investigation is ongoing. Police did say they believe the victim and suspect know each other either from a previous relationship or some other connection.

Police told The San Francisco Examiner the kidnapping was an isolated incident and public safety in the area is not an issue.
