Mid Winter Gala: The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco — the Legion of Honor and de Young museums — celebrated its seventh annual Junior Committee-sponsored benefit Saturday at the de Young. About 400 art patrons and civic leaders attended the event, a salute to the exhibition “Olmec: Colossal Masterworks of Ancient Mexico” on view through May. Designer Stanlee Gatti created the environment, which was inspired by the El Morocco nightclub.
Catholic Charities honor faith in action
Loaves & Fishes Dinner: On Friday at the St. Regis Hotel, Catholic Charities CYO presented its 14th annual event, co-chaired and hosted by Maureen and Craig Sullivan. The gathering recognized major donors who support the organization’s services to some 35,000 clients in the Archdiocese of San Francisco. The Rev. Greg Boyle, founder and executive director of Homeboy Industries, was presented with the 2011 Loaves & Fishes Award for faith in action.
Zootopia celebrates second anniversary
Zootopia: The San Francisco Zoo Auxiliary, a women’s organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for education and conservation programs, hosted its second annual Zootopia on Feb. 28. The event, at Jardiniere restaurant, featured wines selected by Sunset magazine’s 2010 Sommelier of the Year Eugenio Jardim, and an elegant dinner created by chef Traci Des Jardins.
