Whitney Houston is in rehab. The singer who has battled addiction problems for years is seeking help once again; TMZ reports that she began an outpatient program about 10 days ago.
“Whitney Houston is currently in an out-patient rehab program for drug and alcohol treatment,” her rep announced in a statement Monday. “Whitney voluntarily entered the program to support her long-standing recovery process.”
According to TMZ, the “Greatest Love of All” singer is permitted to make public appearances if accompanied by a monitor.
One source explained, “She’s cleansing herself to get ready for a new movie.”
But a music industry source who saw Whitney a couple of weeks ago recalls, “She was plastered and she was a mess.”
Sadly, that’s the public image of Whitney we’ve seen all too often in recent years. Let’s hope she gets the help she needs and goes back to being known for her glorious voice, not her sad decline.
Justin Bieber has a dark side! OK, not really. But the tween heartthrob is “kind of a brat,” according to “CSI” star Marg Helgenburger.
“He had never acted before,” the actress said of the “Baby” singer’s guest role on the show, during a French interview. “I shouldn’t be saying this, but he’s kind of a brat.”
“He was actually very nice to me,” she acknowledged, “but he locked one of the producers in the closet. And he put his fist through a cake that was on the table.”
However, it’s not like Marg is trying to start beef with the Bieb. “I am pretty open to whoever comes on the show,” she declared. “If someone is a jerk, that bothers me. If they’re a so-so actor, it doesn’t bother me. [Justin] is actually better than you’d think!”
Be that as it may, J.B. alluded to her comments on his uber-popular Twitter page, asserting, “It’s kinda lame when someone you met briefly and never worked with comments on you. I will continue to wish them luck and be kind.”
He may be kind, but his fans are likely to be a different story. We’d suggest that if Marg has a Twitter account, she avoid checking it for a while.
Is Rachel McAdams about to become Mrs. Sheen?
No, don’t worry, she’s not planning on being one of Charlie’s goddesses (as far as we know) — but the actress, who has been dating actor Michael Sheen for less than a year, was spotted in Los Angeles on Sunday flashing a new gold band on her engagement finger.
The “Wedding Crashers” star has been engaged before, to her “Notebook” co-star Ryan Gosling — a romance many fans of the super-sappy movie were heartbroken to see fizzle (and still hope will reignite one day). She started seeing her current beau, who starred in “Frost/Nixon” and “The Queen” late last summer.
But a source close to Rachel tells Us magazine she and Michael are “100 percent not engaged.” Her manager confirms there’s no marriage in the works.
That whooshing sound you just heard was thousands of “Notebook” devotees simultaneously exhaling with relief.
