By now you’ve had time to absorb the fact that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s baby is named North West. Sources “close to the couple” broke down the meaning of the name on TMZ, and it basically means “up,” “nothing better” and a “guiding beacon” -- i.e., the North Star.

The child’s sobriquet will be “Nori,” which is pretty cute actually. The New York Daily News found 15 other people in the U.S. with the same first and last name, including a 95-year-old North West from North Carolina (who had strangely never heard of Kimye).

“I reckon I like my name alright,” she said. “It never gave me any problems.”

Wish we could say the same for a child born into the Kardashian clan.
