Yesterday, Anthony Weiner had an incredibly testy 9-minute exchange with reporters who were asking him questions about the lewd photo posted on his Twitter account Friday night. Weiner repeatedly refused to say why he wouldn't ask the authorities to investigate what he alleged to be an illegal "hack" of his Twitter account (he's now downplaying the "hack" as a "prank"). At one point he called a CNN producer a "jackass" for pressing him on the question.
Weiner somehow found a way to dig himself into an even deeper hole today in an interview with Luke Russert on MSNBC. Asked if the photo was of him, Weiner replied: "You know, I can't say with certitude. My system was hacked. Pictures can be manipulated. Pictures can be dropped in and inserted."
