Weather delaying eastbound flights from SFO

If you’re headed to catch a plane going east this afternoon, it’s recommend to double check departure times.

Planes headed east out of San Francisco International Airport could be delayed up to 20 minutes, according to real-time airport statuses.

A violent thunderstorm is sweeping over the northeast and parts of New England. Air traffic at Philadelphia, Newark and New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport are reporting delays up to two hours.

San Francisco’s delays are a ripple affect of the weather on the east coast.

Travel between other west coast cities and plain states are not affected.
