  • Packing his bags: The Warriors sent Dorell Wright to the 76ers in exchange for a player whose rights are likely held by Philadelphia and plays abroad.

Adding to a position of strength, the Philadelphia 76ers acquired small forward Dorell Wright from the Warriors, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday.

According to the Oakland Tribune, Philadelphia will send an "unidentified draftee" to Golden State. CSNBayArea.com reported that the Warriors likely would get a player whose rights are held by the 76ers, but is currently playing in another country, possibly Bosnian power forward Edin Bavcic.

NBA deals can’t be finalized before today.

The 76ers already have Andre Iguodala, a first-time All-Star this year, at the small forward position. In addition, Philadelphia selected St. John’s small forward Maurice Harkless with the 15th overall pick in last month’s draft.

The Warriors chose North Carolina small forward Harrison Barnes with the seventh overall pick in June. Also small forward Brandon Rush is a restricted free agent and the Warriors can match any offer.

Wright, 26, started 143 of the Warriors’ 148 games the past two seasons. He averaged 10.3 points and 4.6 rebounds in 27 minutes per game in 2011-12 after averaging 16.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 38.4 minutes per game the previous season.

The trade will save the Warriors more than $4 million, leaving the team $8 million under the salary cap, according to the Oakland
Tribune.

Wright, who will be a free agent after the 2012-13 season, played six seasons with the Heat after he was Miami’s first-round pick (19th overall) in 2004. He signed with Golden State as a free agent before the 2010-11 season.

Biedrin in hot water: Spokeswoman for the Latvian state prosecutor’s office Aiga Senberga confirmed to AFP an investigation has been launched against Biedrins and two others regarding the evasion of $20,000.

Warriors center Andris Biedrins is facing tax evasion charges in his come country of Latvia, AFP reported.
