A man killed Friday night in a Bayview district double shooting was identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as 27-year-old Tony Harper.
The San Francisco resident, along with another man, was shot in the 100 block of Salinas Avenue about 11:30 p.m., police Officer Albie Esparza said. The second victim, an unidentified 23-year-old man, is in life-threatening condition after being shot in the chest.
Both men were able to get to San Francisco General Hospital on their own, Esparza said. Harper was pronounced dead there.
No arrests had been reported as of Sunday and no suspect information was immediately available.
Violence in The City’s southeastern neighborhoods has been on the rise recently, and police have added officers and stepped up patrols in the Bayview, Esparza said.
In neighboring Visitacion Valley, two people were killed in separate shootings Wednesday and Thursday. A third shooting was reported in the neighborhood Friday.
Across The City, a 47-year-old man was stabbed on Saturday night during a fight with six other people on the sidewalk near Civic Center, Esparza said. That incident was reported about 9:20 p.m. on the 1100 block of Market Street. The victim’s injuries were not serious.
