The three-day event will be held June 20-22 and is expected to draw more than 150 of the top Paralympic athletes from the U.S. It marks the first time the competition will be held in California.
“San Mateo has a wonderful facility, but what is really incredible is the amount of support we have in San Mateo,” said Cathy Sellers, high-performance director for U.S. Paralympics track and field. “The local organizing committee, USATF’s Pacific Association and many others are working diligently on the ground to ensure that our athletes have a first-rate event.”
The U.S. Paralympics track and field national team will be looking to build upon its success from the 2013 world championships where it won 52 medals, including 17 gold.
