Two women robbed, one arrested in separate crimes

Two women were robbed, one woman was arrested and a burglary was interrupted in separate crimes.

Fulton and Octavia streets, 5:18 p.m. Tuesday
A 28-year-old woman was robbed of her purse, police said. Two men and a woman snatched the purse and ran. When the victim tried to follow, they pointed a gun at her and told her to back off.

4000 block of 26th Street, 4:47 a.m. Monday
Officers responded to a report of a burglary in process, police said. Upon arrival they talked to the victims, who had heard loud noises coming from their front door. Police were unable to find any suspects.

Leavenworth and Ellis streets, 12:40 a.m. Wednesday
A 21-year-old woman’s cellphone was snatched from her, police said. The victim walked through a group of thugs who began verbally abusing her. She pulled out her phone to call 911 and one of the alleged thugs grabbed it. He was later arrested.

400 block of Capp Street,2:10 a.m. Monday
A woman was arrested for prostitution, police said. She told police she would continue to work the area whether she was arrested or not. Police requested that a stay-away order be issued.
