Two victims survive shooting in San Francisco’s Ingleside neighborhood

Two people in a car survived a shooting in Ingleside district Wednesday, with one of the victims wounded only by the glass shards of a shattered window, police said.

The victims, a 41-year-old man and 42-year-old woman, were driving in the area of Plymouth and Lakeview avenues around 9:30 p.m. when a suspect fired several times into their car from the sidewalk.

The suspect, a man in his 20s, fled on foot after the shooting. There has been no arrest.

The glass shards caused injury to the 42-year-old woman’s arms. After driving to Ingleside police station, she was transported to San Francisco General Hospital. Her injuries were not life threatening, police said.

The man was not injured, police said.

Correction: The original article stated the man was injured by flying glass in the shooting. It has since been corrected to state that the woman was injured.
