Two U.S. Airmen shot, terrorist link probed

A armed man from Kosovo killed two U.S. Air Force personnel on a bus outside Frankfurt airport Wednesday and wounded two others before being taken into custody, the Associated Press reported from Germany.

Kosovo’s interior minister said that German police have identified the shooter as being from their country.

Frankfurt police spokesman Manfred Fuellhardt told the Associated Press that the attack came as the bus sat outside Terminal 2 at the airport.

U.S. Air Force Europe spokeswoman Maj. Beverly Mock said all four victims were airmen but could not say where they were based.

Members of Congress are being briefed on the attack and some are suggesting that it may have been terrorist related.
