Police are investigating two robberies that occurred Thursday evening, one at the 76 Station at La Playa and Lincoln streets at 6:20 p.m. and a second that took place 40 minutes later on the other side of The City, at a Burger King on Bayshore Boulevard.
Police believe the two incidents are related because in both instances, one of the suspects is described as wearing a black hoodie, black scarf, black shoes with red shoelaces, and one black glove and one red glove.
One of the suspects had a black semiautomatic weapon, police stated. In both cases, the pair walked up to the cashier and asked for the contents of the register, police Officer Boaz Mariles said.
The suspects took off with about $1,000, according to police.
