Two men were injured in a stabbing in their Sunset district home on Saturday, police said Monday.

The two victims, aged 23 and 30, were apparently sleeping in separate rooms in their home in the 4000 block of Ortega Street about 5:15 p.m. when they were stabbed, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.

The 23-year-old victim was stabbed in the head and back and was originally listed to be in critical condition at the hospital but as of Monday afternoon he had stabilized, Shyy said. The second victim was stabbed in the back and is also said to be in stable condition.

No arrest has been made but police believe the suspect to be an 18-year-old man that is known to the victims.

He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans and has brown hair and green eyes, Shyy said. The motive for the attack is unknown, but the knife used in the attack was located at the house.
