Two people were injured near the scene of a shooting in the Mission district on Wednesday, police said.

A 33-year-old man was shot in the leg and abdomen in the area of 26th and Harrison streets about 7:30 p.m., police Officer Gordon Shyy said. The victim's girlfriend drove him to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The second victim, 39-year-old transient Raul Flores, was injured when he fell off a nearby roof. He was uncooperative with police about the shooting but told them about his fall, Shyy said. Flores was subsequently found to have an outstanding robbery warrant. He was taken to the hospital for his injuries and later arrested.

The suspects in the shooting are believed to be men in their 20s or 30s but no arrests have been made. Witnesses told police the shooting may have been sparked by an argument.
