Two crooks apparently escaped on a rooftop after a business was robbed in the Cow Hollow neighborhood Monday night, police Sgt. Daryl Fong said.
Three men in their 20s rang the buzzer to the business in the 1900 block of Lombard Street about 9:35 p.m. and were let in, police said.
Once inside, the suspects — one armed with a gun and another with a knife — ordered the four employees to open the cabinets, the victims told police. The men then pilfered the cash that was inside the cabinets.
Officers arrived on the scene and arrested one of the suspects in a courtyard behind the business, Fong said. A firearm was found in the vicinity of the suspect. The other two suspects reportedly were heard by witnesses escaping on an adjacent building’s rooftop.
None of the employees at the business — one man and three women, all in their late 40s to 50s — was injured.
Police declined to identify the suspect arrested due to the ongoing investigation. He was being held on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, brandishing a firearm, false imprisonment and a probation violation, Fong said.
A blue four-door vehicle believed to belong to the suspects was towed from the scene, Fong said.
