A baby boy was born at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center eight seconds past midnight, spokesman Joe Fragola said.
Another baby boy was born at California Pacific Medical Center’s California campus at 12:01 a.m. by cesarean section, hospital spokeswoman Barbara Dunn said.
His mother, Mei Yang of Hong Kong, has yet to give him a name, Dunn said.
He weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces at birth and was 19 inches long. The first baby in the Bay Area was a girl born two seconds past midnight at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center, spokesman Karl Sonkin said. She weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces at birth and was 21 inches long.
Another baby girl was also born at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center at 12:01 a.m., Sonkin said.
She weighed 5 pounds, 15 ounces at birth and was 18 inches long.
