Tussle tips off cops to Mission District burglary

Two men were arrested on burglary charges after breaking into an apartment building Wednesday, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.

One of the suspects was chased outside by a resident, and the two were seen “tussling on the ground” when police arrived at the intersection of Duboce Avenue and Valencia Street about 8:22 p.m., Shyy said.

The 45-year-old victim told police the man he was fighting broke into his apartment building with another man.
Officers responded to the building and found the second suspect.

The suspects — Todd Cox, 44, and John Grant, 43, both of San Francisco — were arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy and possession of burglary tools, Shyy said. They both had outstanding warrants for their arrest.
