Turning Haight Street into a two-way thoroughfare is subject of meeting

Turning a portion of Haight Street in Hayes Valley into a two-way thoroughfare is the subject of an upcoming San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency community meeting.

The SFMTA, which manages traffic in The City, is recommending changing a one-way portion of Haight Street, between Octavia and Gough streets.

By introducing two-way traffic into that Haight Street segment, transit and pedestrian flow will be improved, according to the SFMTA.

The agency recently approved a measure to change nearby portions of Hayes Street from one-way traffic to two-way.

The meeting will be held on June 20 from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the agency’s headquarters on 1 S. Van Ness Avenue.
