Training workshops held for disaster preparedness

The San Bruno explosion has made us aware of many things — except maybe where exactly the nearest pipeline is to your house.

It did, however, make us realize that we want to be ultra-prepared when the next disaster strikes.

That’s why the San Francisco Disaster Preparedness Coalition for Animals is hosting training workshops for anyone interested in becoming Volunteer Animal Disaster Service Workers. This will give volunteers the information they need to help assist others, including pets, in the event of a major disaster.

The first class in the series is Saturday, Sept.  25, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Hamm’s Building.

The classes are free. To sign up, visit www.sf-fire.org, or call (415) 970-2024.
