BART has resumed normal service after a fatality occurred on the tracks in Oakland on Monday night.

A train operator reported that a man was struck and killed by a Richmond-bound train at MacArthur station at around 6:50 p.m., BART spokesman Jim Allison said.

"It does not appear foul play was involved but our detectives are investigating," Allison said.

The fatality caused major delays in all directions as emergency crews responded.
