  • A shooting in the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood injured three people Thursday morning.

The spate of gun violence in the Bayview-Hunters Point district continued Thursday when two people were shot at Third Street and Gilman Avenue about 9:30 a.m.

The victims, who have not been identified, suffered non life threatening injuries after being shot in the upper body. There have been no arrests, Officer Gordon Shyy said.

On Tuesday, three people in a vehicle were fired upon in the 1300 block of Fairfax Avenue about 7:15 p.m., police said. No one was hit by bullets, but a 44-year-old woman reportedly received a minor injury after being struck by vehicle debris. The other two occupants in the car were men ages 18 and 19, police said.

A few blocks away on Monday, JaQuan "Dutch" Rice, 19, of San Francisco and his girlfriend were shot at the bus stop at West Point and Middle Point roads about 1 p.m. Rice died at San Francisco General Hospital while his girlfriend remained in the hospital Tuesday.

Derrick Hunter, 20, and a 14-year-old boy have been arrested in connection with the shooting, police said.

It wasn't immediately known if any of the shootings were related.
