Three men were injured in a drive-by shooting Thursday near the Alice Griffith housing projects in the Bayview district, police said.

The victims, who are in their 20s, were all in a vehicle stopped at Fitzgerald Avenue and Ingalls Street about 7:40 p.m. when a green sedan drove up from behind. Several shots were fired from the sedan, which then fled northbound on Ingalls Street, Officer Albie Esparza said.

The wounded driver drove himself and the other two victims to San Francisco General Hospital, Esparza said. None of the injuries were life threatening.

"One sustained more serious injuries but is expected to survive," Esparza said.

There were no suspect descriptions. Further details such as whether the shooting was gang related wasn't immediately known, Esparza said.

"Any time we have a shooting or stabbing we always look at the possibility of it being gang related," he said.
