A three-alarm fire at an office building in downtown San Mateo was quickly extinguished this afternoon.

Firefighters were called at 3 p.m. to at 400 South El Camino Real to fight the blaze, according to a San Mateo County fire dispatcher.

Fire officials said the fire, which occurred on the 11th floor, was believed to have been started by a printer, according to news reports. No injuries were reported and damage was minimal.

The building houses offices for U.S. Rep. Jackie Speier and state Sen. Leland Yee. A Yee spokesman said that their office, which is on the sixth floor, was not open Monday.

Speier’s office is on the fourth floor.
