Tens of thousands of Bay Area residents were without power overnight and thousands remain affected, PG&E officials said.

In the immediate Bay Area 2,100 customers are waking up without power, spokeswoman Katie Romans said.

As of 6 a.m., 300 North Bay residents are without power, along with 700 East Bay customers. In the Peninsula 200 have their power knocked down. The South Bay has 900 customers still affected.

In San Francisco no outages have been reported.

Windy conditions appear to have knocked out power to many Bay Area customers.

In the Santa Cruz Mountains area overnight as many as 26,000 customers were without power, a PG&E spokesman said.
