Thanks to a down year in the PAL Bay Division, the Bears (4-6) snuck into an automatic qualifying spot despite a losing record. Their reward? A showdown with top-seeded Piedmont Hills (8-2).
No. 7 Los Altos at No. 2 Sequoia, friday 7 p.m.
After finishing their first undefeated season since 1967, the Cherokees (9-0-1) were rewarded with a No. 2 seed in D-II. The PAL Lake champs will have their hands full against a quality Eagles (8-1-1) team.
No. 6 Burlingame at No. 3 N. Monterey County, Saturday, 1 p.m.
The Panthers (6-4) hit the road having won three of their past four. The Condors (9-1) finished second in the Monterey Bay Football League.
No. 5 Aptos at No. 4 Terra Nova, Saturday, 7 p.m.
The host Tigers (6-4) will look to rebound against the Mariners (5-3-2) after losing the Skull Game to Half Moon Bay last week.
No. 8 Del Mar at No. 1 Jefferson, Friday, 7 p.m.
The PAL Ocean champion Indians (8-2) lost their season finale, and will look to slow down the visiting Dons (7-3), who have won three straight.
No. 6 Menlo at No. 3 San Lorenzo Valley, Saturday, 1 p.m.
The Knights (7-3) face a Cougars (9-1) team that hasn’t lost since it’s opening game.
No. 7 Seaside at No. 2 Sacred Heart Prep, Saturday, 1 p.m.
The host Gators (9-2) and Spartans (6-4) both average over 30 points per game.
