The Daily Outrage: Cash given to law-breaking homeless advocates

WHO: Department of Housing and Urban Development

WHAT: Gave federal stimulus funds to an Ohio homeless advocacy group called The Other Place to rent housing for homeless panhandlers near the University of Dayton.

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: Federal auditors found that the group overpaid $1,000 to rent an apartment in violation of local laws, which require a license to operate a transitional group home. And federal stimulus money is supposed to be used to create jobs so people won’t be homeless.

WHERE TO VENT: Call the inspector general at (202) 708-1112.
