Tenderloin street dispute escalates into knifing

An early morning altercation Saturday on a Tenderloin street turned ugly when one of the combatants pulled a knife and plunged it into another man’s torso, police said.

The 49-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The victim had been arguing with two other men in the 200 block of Leavenworth Street, according to Esparza. The stabbing occurred at 12:40 a.m.

No arrests were made.
