A Belmont man attacked the property manager of his building with pepper spray last week after complaining about the noise from maintenance work in another apartment.

Just after 6 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the apartment complex in the 2300 block of Carlmont Drive and arrested 55-year-old tenant Steven Plummer.

Plummer had allegedly confronted the property’s manager about the racket, leading to an argument, police said.

“During the confrontation, Plummer struck the victim in the face and sprayed him with pepper spray,” police said.

Plummer was booked on charges of assault and battery, misuse of tear gas and for being a felon in possession of tear gas.
