Teen’s persistence foils purse-snatcher

The punk may have knocked her down, but she got up again — and he didn’t get her bag, police said.

The 18-year-old woman was assaulted while walking along Ocean Avenue near Phelan on Monday around 1 p.m., police said. The crook stuck his arm out and knocked her to the ground as he was walking by, and then told her to give up her purse, police said.

She wouldn’t let go. After a struggle, the no-good punk fled. She called cops from home, police said.

The victim complained of pain to her head, police said. No arrests have been made.

The crook was described as a black man in his 20s, standing 5-foot, 7-inches tall and weighing 170-pounds, police said.
