  • A teenage girl's dog was taken from her, along with her cellphone, in an assault and robbery Monday. She was able to recover both.

A 16-year-old girl was assaulted and robbed of her dog and cellphone in a Ingleside Heights store Monday, police said.

The victim was followed into the store in the 300 block of Randolph Street about 8:20 p.m. by two other female teenagers, police said. One of the teens grabbed the victim's dog while the other pulled the victim's hair and pushed her to the ground.

The teenager who assaulted the victim also snatched her cellphone from her pants and both teenaged crooks fled the scene on foot. Outside they let the dog go and dropped the cellphone to the ground.

The victim recovered her phone and dog and was not seriously injured in the attack. No arrests have been made.
