A teenage boy was critically injured in a shooting in Hunters Point on Thursday night, police Officer Albie Esparza said.

The 14-year-old victim was reportedly shot by another teenage boy in the 700 block of Kirkwood Avenue about 8 p.m.

The victim was taken to the hospital after receiving a gunshot wound to his torso, Sgt. Eric O'Neal said.

He was initially reported to be in stable condition, but after getting to the hospital, his condition was changed to critical, Esparza said.

The suspect, a 15-year-old boy, was taken into custody and booked on weapons charges into juvenile detention, Esparza said. The charges include carrying a loaded firearm and willful discharge of a firearm.
