A San Francisco man’s taste in movies may have cost him a tooth.
A 56-year-old man was assaulted early Monday in the Richmond district over his choice to watch what his roommate called a “disrespectful and tasteless movie,” police Sgt. Daryl Fong said.
The victim returned home to his apartment in the 800 block of 25th Avenue about 2:30 a.m. after reportedly consuming alcohol. He then put on a movie his roommate did not agree with, Fong said.
Adrian Groarke, 42, of San Francisco was arrested and booked on aggravated assault charges after he confronted his roommate about the movie before allegedly “punching him in the face numerous times,” Fong said.
Groarke reportedly told the victim his choice of a particular kind of movie at that hour was disrespectful to him and his mother, who also lives at the apartment, Fong said.
Another roommate intervened on the victim’s behalf while Groarke was allegedly beating him, Fong said.
The victim was transported to the hospital for his injuries, which were not life-threatening, Fong said. The victim sustained injuries to his face, which included a cut around his left eye and “a broken tooth.”
