A SWAT team stormed a home in the Western Addition on Friday and rescued a woman who had been kidnapped at gunpoint, police said.
The woman’s estranged husband kidnapped her at her home on Addison Street, then drove her to his residence in the 1100 block of Scott Street. Cops spotted his car parked near the residence. No one answered when they knocked on his door, police said.
Cops surrounded the residence, and a SWAT team entered the home. They arrested the suspect, a 46-year-old man, without further incident, police said.
The woman was freed.
The police department’s domestic violence unit took over the case, police said.
