The Board of Supervisors approved in a second and final vote Tuesday legislation introduced by Mayor Gavin Newsom meant to stimulate development during the recession.
The legislation creates a development fee deferral program. The mayor’s office has said there are nine developments, totaling 2,500 units, which would begin construction if the fee-deferral program was offered.
The board approved the law in a 10-1 vote. Supervisor Chris Daly opposed it.
