The planned Park Merced development could take a significant step forward Monday if the Board of Supervisors Land Use and Economic Development Committee approves the project agreement that would result in 5,700 additional housing units. The construction would result in the demolition of half the of the sites existing homes, 1,500 townhouses.
These displaced tenants would be offered rent-controlled units. The project also includes 310,000 square feet of commercial space, 64,000-square-feet community areas, and 6,252 new parking spaces on site.
The committee meets at 1 p.m., at City Hall, in Room 250.
