A 45-year-old man was shot by an apparent stranger who had followed him for several blocks in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood Wednesday night, police said.
The shooting occurred in the area of Folsom and Falmouth streets, between Fifth and Sixth streets, around 10 p.m.
The victim said he was leaving a friend’s home when he noticed a creepy stranger following him. After several blocks, he turned around and the suspect was 10-to-15 feet behind him, police spokesman Sgt. Daryl Fong said Thursday.
The victim said the suspect was holding something. Suddenly, he heard gunshots, fell to the ground and noticed his wounded forearm, Fong said.
The injury is not life threatening.
The gunman fled and has not been found, Fong said. He was described as a black man between ages 30 and 35, standing 6 feet and 3 inches tall, and weighing 180 pounds. He was wearing a brown knit hat, dark jacket, dark pants and was carrying a black bag.
