A Golden Gate Ferry crew rescued a female kayaker from San Francisco Bay on Wednesday morning, Golden Gate Bridge District spokeswoman Mary Currie said.

The woman went kayaking near Sausalito on Tuesday and drifted to the Larkspur area, Currie said.

The ferry crew saw her clinging to Larkspur channel marker No. 2, where she had apparently spent the night, Currie said.

The crew did not see the woman on their first run Wednesday morning because she was crouched down on the marker to try to keep warm, Currie said.

The crew used a Boston Whaler vessel to rescue the woman, and gave her first aid for hypothermia before paramedics arrived, Currie said. She was then released.
