  • U.S. movie star Steven Seagal, seen performing in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, on July 4, has been removed from his headliner spot at an Estonian blues festival.
Sorry, Estonia: You won’t get a taste of Steven Seagal’s soulful blues stylings this year.

The action star, musician and reserve deputy chief of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana lost his headline spot at an Estonian blues festival due to his controversial support of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We hoped the Estonian public would first and foremost see Steven Seagal as an actor and a musician. It turns out what they saw was rather a politician and a henchman,” Augustibluus festival director Indrek Ditman said Sunday, according to a report in the U.K.’s Guardian.

Many in the Baltic nation were perturbed by the martial artist and energy-drink purveyor’s recent comments on Russia’s annexation of the Crimean Peninsula in Ukraine. Seagal called Putin “one of the greatest world leaders alive today” and said his actions in Ukraine were “entirely reasonable.” The Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 air disaster bolstered opposition.

Twitter promptly took jabs at the expense of the former stunt man and reported incarnation of 17th-century Buddhist monk Chungdrag Dorje.

“Steven Seagal victim of an Executive Decision. Estonia fest is Out Of Reach,” tweeted user @bluesbiscuits.

The lineup still features blues powerhouses such as Alabama Lovesnakes and the Mikk Saar Tribute to John Mayer.

Actor feared ‘trust fund kids’

Philip Seymour Hoffman declined to leave his three children money in his will directly because he didn’t want them to be “trust fund kids,” the New York Post said Monday.

His accountant, David Friedman, recalled the “Capote” star’s wishes during recent estate hearings.

Hoffman instead left $35 million to the mother of his kids, Mimi O’Donnell, saying she would “take care of the children,” according to Friedman. Hoffman died of a heroin overdose at his New York home in February.
