Stars come out for de Young's ‘Balenciaga and Spain’ 

‘Balenciaga and Spain’ opening: On Thursday, leaders in international fashion, art, high tech, film and philanthropy celebrated the opening of the de Young Museum exhibition dedicated to timeless designs created by Cristóbal Balenciaga. On hand were guest curator Hamish Bowles, European editor-at-large of American Vogue, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mia Wasikowska, Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, Jennifer Siebel Newsom and Fine Arts Museums Board President Dede Wilsey.

Dinner honors new teachers

Teach For America: The program, which sponsors recent college graduates who teach in urban and rural areas, hosted its inaugural Bay Area Benefit Dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco on March 22. The Fisher Family, Arthur and Toni Rembe Rock, and Larry and Joyce Stupski were honored for continued support. Event chairs were Joe and Sharon Saunders.
