St. Anthony raises the roof 

“Raising the Roof III” gala dinner and auction: The third annual event, held Thursday at Fulton Street Plaza, raised more than $800,000 for St. Anthony Foundation’s programs, which serve the homeless and working poor. The gathering — chaired by Sandy and Paul Otellini, Betty Louie and Donna Ames-Heldfond — included cocktails, silent and live auctions, and an elegant dinner. KRON’s Pam Moore was the mistress of ceremonies.


In honor of historic places 

Sip Some Wine & Walk Through Time: The U.S. Mint was the setting Wednesday for an event honoring those working to save historic places. The evening — chaired by Carol and Shelby Bonnie, Linda and Jerry Bruckheimer and Jenny and Richard Emerson — also was a benefit for the Western Regional Office of the National Trust.


Celebs get wet and wild

Celebrity Pool Toss: Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corp.’s 17th annual fundraiser, held poolside Oct. 5 at the Phoenix Hotel, netted $220,000 for Tenderloin kids and families. Local luminaries who tossed for the cause included Brian Jennings of the San Francisco 49ers, Bruce Gradkowski and Chris Morris of the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco Symphony President John Goldman. Masters of ceremonies included Cindy Williams, Cheryl Jennings and Liam Mayclem.
